HealthyStart® Teeth Straightening System
Straighten Teeth Without Braces
The HealthyStart® System is a non-invasive method to open the airway and straighten teeth without braces. It uses multiple soft and removeable appliances, similar to mouth guards, that help correct jaw and teeth alignment, proper tongue position, and open mouth posture.
How Does HealthyStart® Work?
Gently Guiding Teeth
The HealthyStart® System works with natural forces of tooth eruption. The soft and comfortable devices gently guide erupting teeth into perfect alignment. In addition, the system aids the correct growth and alignment of the lower jaw, expanding arches to provide space for incoming teeth.

Customized to Your Child
The system features a series of applications that are custom fit to your child’s needs, depending upon the age and the issues that you address.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Questions About HealthyStart®?
Do I need a referral for my child to get the HealthyStart® System?
No, you do not need a referral. You can schedule a consultation directly with Breathe Columbia to see if the HealthyStart® System is the right solution for your child’s needs.
At what age can my child begin the HealthyStart® System?
Children as young as 3 years old can begin treatment with the HealthyStart® System. Early intervention is recommended because it maximizes natural growth and encourages lasting results.
Will an orthodontic condition with baby teeth correct when permanent teeth come in?
Research has shown that children do not typically grow out of these conditions. In fact, many often get worse, and the options for treatment become fewer as children get older.
What is a gummy smile? How can the gummy smile be corrected during the transition of the baby to permanent teeth?
Gummy smile (excessive gingival display) is a condition in which a high lip-line exposes an abnormal amount of gingival tissue. The maxillary permanent central incisor eruption can be restricted from occurring beyond a normal overbite relation with the HealthyStart Appliance. The HealthyStart Kids appliance can prevent an excessive permanent overbite by restricting the eruption of the upper front adult teeth.
